Well hello! And welcome to March!
Today I read Proverbs 1. Here is what I heard using the SOAP method of listening and journaling:
SCRIPTURE: Proverbs 1:33
“But whoever listens to me will live in safety and be at ease, without fear of harm.”
OBSERVATION:
Those who listen to the Lord will live a life of confidence in the truth.
APPLICATION:
He will guide those who listen to Him. Their life will be one of ease.
I don’t think it is being said that all that listen to the Lord will never have hard circumstances. Instead, I believe that this verse reminds me to read his Word, take it to heart, apply it, and enjoy peace of mind knowing that, ultimately, he’s got me. He’s got ALL of us that draw near to Him.
Living in that truth can (and should) soothe us so that we can be at ease and without fear of true harm from an eternal perspective.
PRAYER:
Father God, I love you. I trust you.
I am grateful for the opportunity to hear your words in reading the Bible and in pausing to think about those words. Help me, please, as I read, to take your words and messages to heart so that I can be at ease, without fear of harm.
Please bring others to read with me, too, so that they may also hear you and be at ease. There’s lot going on to stress us out. We could all use some ease.
Thank you, Father.
In Jesus’ name, Amen
