March in the Proverbs Day 4: He offers the wisdom

March 4, 2025

Howdy!

(It’s the first day of Rodeo here in Houston, so I could not resist!)

I hope that you are settling into a daily Proverbs reading habit with me. It’s day 4 of our reading together, and I find that day 4 is when people often get a little antsy and sometimes start to skip. I pray that you are still with me and that you invite a friend to jump in and join us right where we are.

Here is what I heard in Proverbs 4 by applying SOAP:

Scripture: Proverbs 4:11

I guide you in the way of wisdom and lead you along straight paths

Observation:

The Word in the Bible is true and, when applied will guide me in the right ways.

Application:

The Bible offers true wisdom. There are a LOT of people and sources offering advice out there, and it can be easy to go to any number of sources and want to believe them. But this is the one I find to be the true authority. There are just too many things pointing that way for me to believe otherwise. And so I embrace the messages of the Bible to be true. And I accept that the Holy Spirit will share true wisdom and lead me along straight paths as I choose to spend time in the Word and apply what I read and hear.

Prayer:

Father God, thank you for loving me and guiding me to your Son and to the Holy Spirit. Thank you for offering wisdom for the taking through a relationship with you, in spending time reading your Word, and in talking with you about it. I am so grateful. I seek true wisdom, not cheap solutions. Thank you for not only offering that always but also for this reminder to seek it to gain guidance in the right ways.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.

March in the Proverbs

Hi there, Dear Reader!

In March, I will read one chapter of Proverbs in the Bible each day and use the SOAP method to share what I hear with you on AmyCGross.com.

I am not a Biblical scholar by any means, but I have read the Bible cover to cover a few times and find that the SOAP method helps me to focus as I read.

My prayer is that this inspires you to join me in reading and listening for the Holy Spirit.

About Me… and what I have to say
